Questions to Consider When Evaluating Accreditation Models
CWLC affirms the importance of accreditation and recognizes that it is a valuable process to ensure high standards for service provision. Accreditation helps to promote accountability and excellence in all aspects of service delivery. CWLC created a list of questions intended to assist in probing whether a given accreditation model, applied in the Canadian context, takes account of the core principles that the Child Welfare League of Canada has identified as fundamental to the accreditation process. The eleven core principles are derived from the CWLC Strategic Plan 2007-2012. It is recognized that there may be other operational factors to consider when service providers are appraising the relative merits of different models.
